Our first tip comes from club member Mike O. who says the key to finding
a good Bass spot is to look for cobwebs around the dock, possibly indicating
little recent disturbance in or around the water. Bass will avoid areas
where there is lots of activity, so don't waste your valuable fishing
time looking in a "busy" area where there are lots of kids'
toys, beach equipment, and skiing paraphernalia near the dock -- especially
jet skis. Also, shy away from places where swimmers may be present - you
will likely not do well finding Bass in spots like this.
Next tip is also from club member Bud A. He suggest looking for boats with
BIG motors coming off of docks! They will carve nice deep channels for fish to hide in.
Here's a fantastic tip from yet another member of our club: To keep your livewell
clean and fresh, fill it three-quarters full of water at the end of the fishing day, then
add a box of baking soda. Let this mixture slosh around during the drive home. Once home,
drain and rinse the livewell thoroughly!
